Superhero Back to School Giveaway

This is my very first giveaway for this blog. I'm excited and hoping it turns out well. So here we go:

I got a chance to see the new Batman movie "Dark Knight" over the weekend with my sister and little brother. It was kind of long, but good. I loved Heath Ledger as the Joker. He did an amazing job. He made the movie for sure. I also saw Spiderman 3 on dvd. So since I've had a superhero weekend my prize will be a superhero prize pack.

Up for grabs is a 4 pc Spiderman 3 study kit. It includes a pencil case, ruler, sharpner and eraser.

To enter just leave a comment telling me who your favorite superhero is and why.

* One time per person/email please.
* Ends August 5th.
* Winner will be chosen randomly.
And the winner is: bison61

End of the Month

This month is almost over and done. In the sweeping world that is a good thing. Hundreds of contests end at the end of the month. Everyone tries to get their last entries end because the cut off time in hopes of winning a prize. Any prize. Of course you just keep plugging away, entering your dailies and whatnot. But the chance of winning is always greatest after a boatload of contests end. I lose 100-200 usually. I can't say I miss having to enter them day in and day out, but there's always just as many to take their place. Just as a great many end at the end of the month. A large number begin at the beginning of the month, the next day. So you start the cycle back over. Trying to increase the number of sweepstakes you've entered. It's a numbers game. The more you enter, the more likely you are to win. I usually win something for every 200-300 sweepstakes I enter. Sometimes more or less. The only thing that is for certain is you have to be in it to win it. I love that motto!

A WIN Received

No wins to report, well I take that back. I won a supposed gift certificate to a clothing online store. But it was more or less a gimmick to get people to buy something from their site. They only had one or two items that were under $10 and the shipping wasn't covered by the gift certificate. I did however receive today a win I had won a couple of weeks ago. I won a nice backpack from an instant win by Gillette. It's always fun to get a win in the mail. A surprise win is the best. There's nothing like the feeling of coming home to a delivered package and opening it up to find a great prize you won. I love the feeling of winning! The contest is still going on and there are lots of great prizes to be had. I've already scored mine now go get yours!

DVD win!

I found out via Google alerts that I won "The Andromeda Strain" DVD from http://www.needcoffee.com/. They have quite a bit of sweepstakes on a regular basis. They give away a large number of new release DVDs. I definitely don't mind adding to my DVD collection. It's small but growing. I'm wanting so bad to get the "Dirty Jobs" seasons. I just love that Mike Rowe. Also "Stop Loss" with Channing Tatum and "Semi-Pro" with Will Ferrell. What DVD are you so wanting right now?

My Neck of the Woods: Online-sweepstakes

There are many online sweepstake sites out there. Just to name a few:

www.sweepsadvantage.com
www.cashnetsweeps.com
www.grandmajam.com
www.contesthound.com
www.contestalley.com

But my personal favorite is www.online-sweepstakes.com . This is the one I frequent. There are no ads bombarding the site, the forums are interesting and informative and everything is organized nicely. Basic membership is free, but premium services cost $30 for one year. If you just want to try it out you can choose the 3 month trial of only $12.50. It is very much worth. I have won many times over what I paid for my membership. You get extra features that the basic membership doesn't include. But if money if low just start with the basic membership and tell them I sent you. Remember you have to in it to win it!

Sweepers Nightmare

An online sweepers nightmare is definitely a computer virus. I had the pleasure of acquiring one a couple of days ago. Not fun. Thankfully I had good tech help. We have quite a few computer guru's in our forum at the site I frequent (OLS) My personal favorite, Fastfreddie. , was able to get me back in working order quick as a jiffy. He recommends downloading the free anti-virus software and firewall comodo ( http://www.comodo.com/ ) to prevent this from happening to your computer. It's good software but the pop-ups can be a bit of a nuisance. Here's a couple of sweeps where you can win a few downloads.

Dove - Win a Music Download Promotion daily / instant
Prizes (9,000 - 100 per day): Sponsor-selected music download (ARV $0.99

Monster Energy - Warped Tour Music Download Sweepstakes 1x
Prize: Code redeemable for a complete 25+ song album download on MonsterEnergy.com

Moving is a BIG no-no

The worst thing you can do when anticipating a win is move. And of course yours truly just made a move (from AR to TX). I nearly lost out of a nice prize in the process. Just so happened, I went back for visit over the 4th of July weekend. I had won a nice prize and had till July 4th to return the form confirming my information. This was on the 3rd already past business hours. Nonetheless, the next day was a mad search for a fax machine. I managed to find an aunt with one and had to walk to the next house to use long distance. Still I got it done and yesterday I received my prize. Here's what I won.

Staples - Business Bundle A Day Sweepstakes Case of Staples paper, HP LaserJet printer, toner cartridge, USB cables and a shredder (ARV $565)

Introduction

One of my favorite and most lucrative hobbies is sweepstaking. Or contesting, as some people like to call it. This simply means I enter sweepstakes and contests. I enter exclusively online and I've won a treasure trove of prizes. Even though that mega grand prize still eludes me, it is a fun hobby. Not only that, but it's cheap, easy and very rewarding. It does require a bit of committment and a lot of patience. Join me as I show you the ins and outs of the hobby, what's up for grab, how to win and what to expect. Lets get sweeping!
